Democrats Pull Troop Deadline From Iraq Bill - New York Times

Disappointing if not unexpected. I don't see why they couldn't just keep sending a bill with withdrawal deadlines (binding ones, at that) and let Bush keep vetoing. Each time, they should get more votes in favor until they have enough to beat the veto.

This just gives the Reps and the so-called Moderates a window of opportunity to make political hay of the Dems "weakness." They should have stuck to their guns.
